For Carbon and Low Alloy Steels

LoTherme - 361

Low heat input, low hydrogen electrode for welding mild steel and for buffer layers before hard surfacing.

Characteristics

LoTherme-361 electrode gives crack free radiographic weld metal. It operates in all conventional positions. Weld metal display excellent ductility and toughness.

Applications

LoTherme-361 is ideally suited for welding mild, medium carbon, high tensile steels, steels high in sulphur and phosphorus. Some typical applications include heavy structures, pressure vessels, earth moving machines subjected to dynamic loading.

Typical Mechanical Properties Of All Weld Metal

Ultimate Tensile Strength : 555 MPa

Elongation (L=4d) : 27 %

Welding Technique

Ensure the electrodes are dry. Re-dry the electrode at 250°C for two hours before use. Clean the weld area completely free of oil, grease, paint, rust or any other foreign matter. Preheat the job in case of welding heavy sections in cast steel. Use low current, short arc and stringer beads.
